Stuart Brignell is a record producer and saxophone player based in Toronto, Canada.

On saxophone, has been influenced by the music of Charlie Parker, John Coltrane and Grover Washington Jr. since he first picked up the horn at age 12. As a producer, the music of Quincy Jones, Jay Dilla, Terrace Martin, DJ Premier and Kaytranada have influenced and inspired his productions endlessly.

His debut instrumental mixtape “Soul Stu : The Lofi Tapes Vol. 1” is available now on all streaming platforms!

Stuart has had the privilege of studying with Canadian saxophone masters such as Pat LaBarbera, Kirk MacDonald, Nick Morgan and Mark Promane. He has performed alongside Dank of Frank-n-Dank (J DILLA, COMMON ETC). He commonly plays with and shares the stage with some of the best musicians in Canada, including Quincy Bullen, Ewen Farncombe, O’Niel Benjamin, Rudy Ray, Aaron Spink, Sean Clarey, and Worrell McFarlane to name a few. He has toured and performed across Europe as well as the UK and United States with Jazz outfit ART the Band .

Stuart has a growing foothold in the London (UK) music scene as well. Having gigged and shared the stage with the likes of Tom Driesler (Yussef Dayes, Kamaal Williams, Adele), David Mrakpor (Bluelab Beats), Xtrordinary Junior (Stormzy, Mansur Brown) and Terry Smiles among others.

Stuart’s collaborations with THEHONESTGUY are up for Juno nominations for the year of 2023, for the “How To Make Love” EP from 2022. Stuart contributed production and woodwind arrangements on the song “Baby Mother” from this album
